The Trauma Responsive Greater Manchester (TRGM) Conference 2026, which brought together professionals from health, education, public services, VCSE, research, and community sectors to reflect on seven years of trauma-responsive work in the region.


Key themes included:


  • The journey to becoming ACE-aware and trauma-responsive,
  • the importance of language and lived experience,
  • cross-sector collaboration, and whole-system transformation.


Achievements highlighted are workforce development, policy integration, community engagement, and evidence-based evaluation, with case studies from various sectors.


The conference launched the GM Trauma Responsive Framework, featured keynote presentations, community voices, education panels, and research sessions, and emphasized trauma-informed design, resilience, and supportive environments.


Practical guidance for professionals, innovative community initiatives, and culturally sensitive mental health support were also covered. The overall focus is on sustaining a person-centered, trauma-responsive approach through ongoing collaboration, investment, and evaluation to improve outcomes across Greater Manchester.
